Who played the lounge singer that gave Hector a present in the Movie El Cantante?

The scene I’m referring to is about half way through the movie and the Salsa singer gave Hector the gift of a song he had written for him. He ha a beautiful voice and I want to see if he is a professional singer. Also, does anyone know if that actually happened? Thanks!
