I don’t really want my parents/siblings to hear the music I listen to, which is why I usually use headphones, but both pairs are broken and I can’t go out and buy new ones. So, is there any way for me to listen to music without anyone hearing, and without using headphones?
I listen to it on my laptop… But usually while doing other things so I want to be able to hear, yet the sound travels through the register down to the basement where my siblings are… Would covering it up stop the sound from going down there?

More specific please… like on the computer, just put the volume kind of low and lean in towards them, on the tv go to the 800 channels and put the voume low (lot of music here). Go to your parents car and turn on the radio. If you have an ipod touch 2nd generation or higher, play the music with your headphones unplugged, put the volume more or less low and hold it up against your ear.
