How would I extract instrumental music from a DVD on my mac?

I want to extract instrumental music from my Brothers and Sisters DVDs without any talking or dialogue in the track. Does anyone know how one would do this?

Yes – first you need to rip the DVD in handbrake

Then import the h.264 file into iMovie or Final Cut and use the extract Audio – Command + J to remove the audio. Just like you would do in a normal captured movie clip.
