What rights do the artist and commissioner hold on the piece after an art commission?
A friend of mine recently had an issue with a buyer where she was asked to draw their OCs, only to have the buyer strip the image of her signature and claim it as their own arguing that it is their property.
What rights does the artist have and what rights does the designer hold? I always thought that the owner of the characters holds the design rights and should be credited, but the artist holds the rights to the piece of art they created. Is that right?
