    This sounds pretty awesome, my only criticism is that the drums don’t sound recorded very well, perhaps the quality is reduced by Youtube though.

    jerry wrote pretty much all of the songs, you know that right? Layne only wrote like 1/7 of aics songs.

    i don’t want to be an assh*le but i don’t care, it’s gay.. sorry i would love to hear some song like rain when i die, love hate love, again and the lists go on.. couple of the new ones are ok.. but most sound like jerry got mad and strat doing everything his way… i don’t think duvall gave a lot from himself to this.. maybe im wrong… rip layne

    Can’t really remember, only managed to listen once to the whole album once, I got to wait till it comes out on CD. I do remember a few guitar ” skirmishes” every now and then, also remember it being moody and heavy.

    AIC is the best band ever, you can’t replace Layne and William isn’t trying too, it’s about the music. AIC isn’t catchy, close ur eyes and hear it, it’s as beautiful as my chics ass.

    There are some promising tracks, but I’m tired of Jerry hogging all the vocals. The vocal dynamic on this record reminds me of the self-titled album a bit too much. Jerry is a technically a good singer, but his voice is boring in large doses…lets not forget the forgettable Cantrell solo records.

    I’m curious dude, are there any good guitar solos from Jerry? Not that guitar solos are the most important ingredient to AIC’s sound. I’m just really curious

    I’ve managed to have a listen to the whole album before release date…friend of a friend and all. They havn’t lost it at all, good quality music, nothing less. While listening, I thought how great Laynes voice would have sounded on it, however trust me, you can’t ignore Duvall, he does have an extremely impressive voice for AiC. Tid bit of info, Dirt was released on the 29th of Sep 92…..coincidence? Maybe they planned that, very fitting I think =)

    Alice in Chains’ songs have Never been catchy. That’s not what they’re about. Catchy is what backstreet boys and britney spears were about. Poor misguided fool

    When did this turn into a Nirvana chat board? You guys and your opinions can suck the grunge off these badass riffs and have a cup of shut the up for all I’m concerned. If you don’t like it, move on, go listen to your Creed album that you are still hanging onto. Chains is back all you whiners. If you don’t like it, then you and the you rode in on.

    Mrphilcollins hit the nail on the head. Kurt was the brains behind Nirvana and Grohl and Novoselic respect that. If Grohl really wanted to do something, I’m sure he would’ve. Novoselic is now a political figure in Washington state and it seems like he’s content with his life post-Nirvana.

    TooStoolQueenie. Grohl has the Foo Fighters and no reason to replace Kurt. Novoselic Who? The Doofus bass player would replace Kurt if he could but without Grohl he doesn’t have that option.

    Kinda different, kurt wrote the majority of the songs and he was also the key figure..in AIC jerry wrote alot of the songs and he was also a huge figure alongside layne. i think it’s brilliant that their back and the new stuff sounds good.
