How can I personalise a leather photo album?
Posted on June 18th, 2010 by admin
Hi,
I have put together a photo album as the front of the album is just blank cream leather I would like to personalise it, but Im not sure how to do this?
Thanks is advance.
There is a leather "burning" kit that you can buy at the craft stores and it has several different types of bits to use when your making writing or pictures. This kit also burns into wood so be careful. There is also an applique that you can get there that you can put on the leather, just make sure it states it will adhere to the leather. Trying to sew something to it after it has been stretched to fit the cover would be next to impossible.

You can paint something on leather with acrylic paints, then just spray it with a fixatif..I use Krylon or any fixatif that will seal acrylics.
You can make some really beautiful covers with that technique.
